Author: Rhonda Byrne
Rating: 5/5

This by far is one of my best read this 2014. I’ve always been a fan of Rhonda Byrne‘s books (The Secret and The Power). The Hero though is different from the two because it focuses more on how you’re going to fulfill your dreams by discovering the hero in you.

The Secret: The Law of Attraction
The Power: Love
The Hero: You

I can’t pick one specific favorite chapter because each chapter has captured my heart. It talks about how you’ll discover yourself to become that hero you are intended to be.

On the other hand, it didn’t just focus on the “you” but also teaches something about your relationship with other people especially those who had been a miracle to your life.

It also stressed out the importance of humility as you climb the ladder of success.

One of the topics that I must say has affected me is about the naysayers. They are the people who will try to put you down and those who wouldn’t believe in you and your abilities. Somehow, I know I can be affected by them because I still consider myself weak and vulnerable. But, this book has given me brighter reason why they shouldn’t matter. That they will always be around and will try to break you but you should be strong enough to fight their small mindset.

Quotes from the book:

Don’t do anything that a person easily do for himself/herself. If you do, you will not help them, but you will dis-empower them.

Every journey starts with a dream and your full faith and belief in your dream will pave the way.

By realizing your dreams, you will realize the greatness in you. Greatness is not being born with a silver spoon in your mouth. Following your dream and realizing the hero with you is greatness.

Life is not about the negative circumstances that happen top you, it’s about what you do with the golden opportunities hidden within.

Some books change your life. This one is surely one of them. With stories of people from different countries, this book takes you to a motivational tour and lets you discover yourself in that process. I am a big fan of Rhonda Byrnes and I read The Secret, The Power and The Magic on regular basis. This book does not tell you what to do, but it instead takes you through the lives of people who have implied gratitude even in their worst of times and have come out as winners.

Agree with your comments about naysayers. If you let them, they will get you down, which is why it’s so important to ignore them and keep moving forward. I’ve been affected by them over the years, but I’m also grateful for them because I’ve been able to develop a thick skin. Now, whenever someone says, “That can’t be done”, my instant reaction (both internal and external) is, “You mean, – YOU can’t do it”.
