The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett (Book Review)

“Si Mary at Ang Lihim Na Hardin” This is the Filipino cartoon version of it. If you are a 90’s kid and love to watch morning cartoons before going to your afternoon classes, then, you are already old. (lol) Kidding aside, then, you can relate to me. 🙂

For parents who were looking for a good book starter for their kids, it will be one of my recommended books along with Search for Delicious and Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbit. This can be a good start for kids around 9 years old to 12 or before they get to high school.

The story was simple yet engrossing. One thing I find strange was some British phrases which sounds incomplete.

“An’ it’s workin’ an’ hummin’ an’ scratchin’ an’ pipin’ an’ nest-buildin’ “

Where in fact it should be written this way:

“And it’s working and humming and scratching and piping and nest-building.”

You’d fin’ that style of writin’ when a British person was speakin’ :p

Thus, sometimes, makes it confusing. Anyhoo, it’s an interesting book to read.
